How do you cover a pond for safety?

A simple to install child safe, pond cover net is all it takes to save a life.

Made from purpose built, super strong woven polypropylene, the Bull Nets Pond Safety Net system is designed to stop your children, grandchildren and pets from falling into your pond.

Since 1999 we have been the industry leader in pool and pond safety, providing trusted pond safety net covers for over 20,000 families across the UK and internationally.

We are proud to offer you a pond safety kit that will save your child's life, should the worst ever happen.

We recommend ordering a complete kit which includes anchors and rope. To order the correct quantity of anchors, ensure you set the slider to the appropriate ratio of hard surround (brick, wood, stone, etc.) and soft surround (grass, soil, sand, etc.).

To calculate the ratio, measure the total amount of hard or soft surround and divide it by the total length of the perimeter. So if half of your surround is stone and the rest is grass, choose 50% hard : 50% soft.

The carabiners are easy to unclip so you can pull the net away and get access to your pond or remove the net when not necessary.

The only tools needed are a 6mm drill bitand a hammer for installing hard fixings into wood or stone, a pair of scissors for any adjustments and a lighter to seal the cut ends of your net for a tidy finish.

HARD FIXINGS

Steel eye bolt anchor and carabiner clip "fixing sets" have expanding, winged tips that bury themselves into any hard surface and prevent your net from moving. Requiring only a 6mm drill bit to pilot and hammer to tap in, they are super easy to install and are a must-have addition to any pond safety net kit for hard or mixed ground surround. You'll need at least one every 50cm along the perimeter of your pond and one for each corner, so add all four sides up and times by 2 for the right number.

SOFT FIXINGS

Steel anchors have a corkscrew shape that twists enabling them to bury themselves into any soft surface and prevent your net from moving. They are super easy to install and are a must-have addition to any pond safety net kit for soft or mixed ground surround. The spring loaded clip keeps your net secure. You'll need at least one every 50cm along the perimeter of your pond and one for each corner, so add all four sides up and times by 2 for the right number.

TENSIONING ROPE

Failsafe rope forms a criss-cross pattern under your net and also weaves around the perimeter. You will need one cross sectional span for every metre along the perimeter of your pond in both directions. You will also need enough rope to weave along the entire perimeter of your pond.

Case study (3m x 2m pond):

Long Span: 3m x 2m = 6m
Short Span: 2m x 3m = 6m
Perimeter: 3m + 3m + 2m + 2m = 10m
Total: 22m

For a 3m x 2m net you would order a 30m rope.
